Context

The Employee Availability and Scheduling System (FMS) was developed to streamline the scheduling process for employment agencies. It allows employees to submit and view their availability, while administrators can efficiently manage schedules, assign shifts, and communicate with employees. The system aims to improve operational efficiency and enhance the employee experience by simplifying scheduling and communication.

Process

1. Research & Discovery:

I began by understanding the needs of both employees and administrators through user interviews and feedback. This helped identify key pain points, such as scheduling conflicts and communication barriers.

2. User Flow & Wireframing:

I created user flows to outline the key steps for both employees and administrators. Based on these flows, I developed wireframes for the main screens, focusing on usability and ease of navigation.

3. UI Design:

After finalizing the wireframes, I designed high-fidelity UI screens using Figma. I focused on creating a clean, intuitive interface with clear call-to-action buttons and a simple, organized layout.

4. Prototyping & Testing:

I built an interactive prototype to test the core features. Usability testing was conducted to identify any issues and gather feedback on the user experience.

Outcome

The Employee Availability and Scheduling System (FMS) significantly improved scheduling efficiency and communication within the agency. Employees found it easier to submit and manage their availability, while administrators could quickly assign shifts and avoid scheduling conflicts. The user-friendly design enhanced the overall experience for both employees and administrators, leading to improved satisfaction and streamlined operations.
